Xmas card from Rome

...The Christmas tree in front of Piazza Venezia and the market at Piazza Navona...I didn't have much time to snap the decorations before I left Rome, but at least I got a few... You know Christmas = Stress. Such a shame as I would have loved to appreciate it all to the fullest, but being busy it's good too, in a way. I guess mental peace will be my mantra in 2013 after a stressful Autumn. At least now I'm de-stressing at home <3 hoping I'll blog more in the New year. Cheers to new inspiration ;) Anyways, Happy holidays and all the best for the New year!!!

Monti

One of my favorite neighborhood in Rome; Monti is just off Via Nazionale and stretches to the Colosseum. You can reach the area with the Metro B - Cavour; and you will find yourself at Piazza Suburra, an ancient meeting place. Here you'll find cool shops, markets (the Monti market is held here), cafés and restaurants. An absolute must. Stop by Piazza Madonna dei Monti and have lunch at the Bottega del Caffé in the piazza. At night visit Ai Tre Scalini, a lovely winebar and Casa Clementina for lovely cocktails. Have a nice week-end! XXX

Antica Enoteca

I love this place, near the Spanish steps / Piazza di Spagna. It's such a cozy winery and restaurant. I prefer this place in the fall/winter as it has a lovely atmosphere and it's beautifully decorated in my opinion. In fact it's name translated is "Ancient winery" and that's the feeling it wants to give with it's antique look and "frescoes" mural paintings. Recommended  if you want to have lunch/dinner or just a piece of cake (yummy) & coffee, or a glass of red when it's cold outside.

Madonna on the corner

There's a Madonna 'Holy Mary' on every corner in the center of Rome.
You can also come over different variations of the same theme, here and there. Love how they are placed there to watch out for the people of the city. Also a very decorative element in the eternally gorgeous city.
